Sally Stanford Ranch - Sausalito Cottage

Cottage, 2 bedroom, 1 bath.

The Sausalito Cottage is located one hour north of San Francisco nestled on a 20 acre private ranch off of Scenic Hwy 12 in Kenwood, CA. Our late Aunt, Sally Stanford, purchased the ranch in 1961 as a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco. She was San Francisco's most famous Madame and Sausalito's former Mayor. We named this rental Sausalito as a tribute to the town she loved. The cottage is located right in the heart of Sonoma County wine country in an area that is well known as the Valley of the Moon.

Fantastic retreat

“My mom , husband and child stayed at this fantastic place for only a couple of night, but the first thing my son said was " Mom, I want this to be our house". The cottage is plenty big for 4 people, very, very clean, stylishly decorated with lots of attention to details, high quality linens and bedding. The kitchen had everything one needs to cook a meal, if interested, and even all the spices, and basic ingredients. We have been coming to Santa Rosa to mount bike in Annadel for 10 years now and have been staying at a different places, but we are attached to this cottage now. The history of the ranch is fascinating and we read all about the famous Sally Stanford on Sunday. There is tons of wineries and good places to dine in the vicinity. Highly recommend this property!”

Relaxing stay in the wine country

“We loved our stay in the Sausalito Cottage. Everything from the comfy beds, to the beautiful view from our sitting room of a mountain, to the peaceful porches - front and back - made our stay an absolute joy. It's close proximity to the many wonderful wineries in the area meant we got to stroll to several if we fancied the exercise or pop in the car to go further afield. I would highly recommend Sausalito Cottage, or any of the cottages at the Sally Stanford Ranch.”

Perfect two-bedroom house in Sonoma County

“This house was recently done and it had everything we needed: Two bedrooms, one bath with a full living room, dining room, kitchen, and laundry/storage room. The front porch overlooked the main road and beautiful Sonoma hills while the back porch overlooked the other side of the Sonoma hills and a cute garden. Within walking distance, there was a game room hall with ping pong, pool, and a fire pit, which made for some fun later evening entertainment. The entire property is located right off the main Sonoma highway, which makes it a great location for easy access to downtown Sonoma and other vineyards, one of which is located right across the the street. The house is tucked back on the property, so you avoid the street noise, but still have the easy road access. The owners are some of the friendliest and most welcoming people I've met and I would highly recommend staying here for your next wine country visit.”
