Newly Renovated Wine Country Cottage On Private 20 Acre Ranch

Cottage, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, Sleeps 2

The Speakeasy Cottage is located one hour north of San Francisco nestled on a 20 acre private ranch off of Scenic Hwy 12 in Kenwood, CA. Our late Aunt Sally Stanford purchased the ranch in 1961 as a quiet retreat from the hustle and bustle of San Francisco. She was San Franciscos's most famous Madame and Sausalito's former Mayor. We named this rental 'Speakeasy Cottage' as a tribute to her illustrious career as a bootlegger in the early 1920's.

The cottage is located right in the heart of Sonoma County wine country in an area that is well known as the Valley of the Moon.

We are registered with the county and our Transient Occupany Tax Number is # 1096N.

“Honestly, The Speakeasy at the Sally Standford Ranch is, hands down, the best place I've ever stayed in Sonoma county. Everything you need is inside: (my favorite highlights) huge open beautiful space indoor and outdoor, mountain views, amazing night stars, fresh flowers, wine and cheese provided upon arrival, best morning coffee, robes (!), a hidden hammock (!), full working - and stocked for you - kitchen (to save from eating out every day), outside grill, incredible location (just north of Kenwood and South of Santa Rosa right off the main highway but not noisy), super comfy bed, windows everywhere to sleep with the evening breeze, movies, books, board games, fireplace (didn't use), and I'm sure there's more you will find amazing too. After your days out and about exploring, this is the BEST place to come home too.”

Perfect cottage for our weekend get-away

“We had a great experience - the location couldn't be better. Lots of great information was provided in a convenient binder, which was great since we were not that familiar with Glen Ellen and Kenwood. We had total privacy - Judy greeted us when we arrived to make sure everything was OK, and then we never saw her again. The cottage is part of a larger ranch, so it was very quiet and peaceful. We even spent part of Saturday afternoon lounging with a glass of wine on the hammock in the back.”

Wonderful place to stay!

“My husband and I spent four days in the "Speakeasy" Cottage. It is larger than we were expecting and wonderfully decorated. The bathroom was spotless with a nice sized walk-in shower. The towels were soft and of good quality. There were extra towels in the bureau in the bedroom. The bed was comfortable with really nice bedding on it. The kitchen is small but has everything you need. The owner left us a bottle of local wine, cheese, orange juice and a number of other things to get started. The cottage was so comfortable and we were happy to get back there after a busy day in wine country. It also has a really nice patio. It is in a nice quiet area.”
